Drying is natural food preserving method. It is an old and inexpensive way to preserve - even grains are dried.

Properly stored dried products will keep for several years. So their importance as reserve food in times of crisis is great.

With the choice of a proper dehydrating system one can assure the preservation of each product's nutritive values: taste, colour and smell.

With the ORAKAS food dehydrator one can dry garden produce as well as wild vegetation: herbs and spices, tea leaves, roots, berries, fruits, mushrooms. Also meat and fish.

Drying time depends on the properties of each product.

The drying time for tea leaves is 2-3 hours, for mushrooms and roots 3-7 hours and for berries and meat 10-30 hours.

Nutritive values are best preserved when drying occurs quickly, even though the temperature rises relatively slowly and is at the end of the drying time only 50-60°C.
